Town Government

Lake Placid Town Hall is the center of the town government. Located at 311 W. Interlake Blvd., across from DeVane Park, Town Hall provides services that include voter registration, water, sewer and garbage department billing, sale of cemetery plots and occupational licenses. The town has its own Police Department.

Lake Placid’s mayor and town council are the governing bodies. Council meetings are held the second Monday of each month.

County Government

Five county commissioners are elected to represent the districts of Highlands County. In addition to the commissioners, the other constitutional officers are a clerk of court, sheriff, supervisor of elections, property appraiser, and tax collector. Each is elected to serve a four-year term.
