JANUARY
Sebring U.S. Sport Aviation Expo
Lake Placid Art & Cultural Center Art Show
A juried show featuring fine arts and crafts for sale at the Ag Center in Sebring.
FEBRUARY
Lake Placid Country Fair:
First full weekend in February. About 200 crafters, local clubs and organizations and
entertainers gather at DeVane Circle in Lake Placid for two days of fun, food, and
entertainment.
Highlands County Fair
Rides, animals, entertainment and many other activities that you associate with a county
fair are to be found at the Highlands County Fair Grounds.
Golf Tournament:
The Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce holds an annual golf tournament as a fund
raiser at a local golf course - a great way to have a day of fun. Lots of prizes are
donated by local businesses.
MARCH
Arts & Heritage Festival in Lake Placid:
Art demonstrations by visiting artists; heritage information exhibits; entertainment, food
and drinks in a town park; clowns around town!
Historic Sports Car Race:
Historic sports car race at the internationally famous Sebring International Raceway.

Hours of Sebring International Races:
The best drivers and cars gather here for various races, culminating in the
internationally recognized 12 hour endurance race at the Sebring International Raceway.
APRIL
Bass Tournament:
The Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Bass Tournament on one of the
areas great Bass fishing lakes.
JULY
Independence Day Fireworks over Lake June:
An exciting fireworks display takes place over Lake June in Winter from the Lake June Ball
Park.
AUGUST
Annual Caladium
Festival:
Bus rides to the caladium fields and caladium displays in nearby sub-divisions; many
exciting craft products to choose from; the opportunity to purchase magnificent pots of
caladiums and great food & fun.
Annual Car Show:
About 300+ vintage and special cars, trucks, and motorcycles gather in DeVane Circle to
participate in this increasingly popular car show. Prizes in every class! Put on in
conjunction with the Caladium Festival.
SEPTEMBER
NOVEMBER
ABC Weekend:
Bicycle clubs from central and south Florida cycle to Highlands County to meet with local
cyclists for various rides throughout the county.
DECEMBER
Christmas Parade:
Saturday, December 8, 2008
The countys largest Christmas Parade with floats, bands, cheerleaders, fire
trucks and Santa Claus.
